Tips To Identify Fake Coach Purses - Get The Real Thing

by Sheri Middleton

Real? or Fake?Coach purses are hugely popular with ladies everywhere. No matter where you go, you will be able to see someone walking around with a bag covered with the signature "C"s. Because of the popularity of these bags, replica and imposter bags are showing up. Knowing a few tips to identify fake Coach purses will make sure you are buying the real thing.

Coach purses can only found in retail or outlet stores, on their website, in their catalog and in certain specialty stores. These bags are never sold by any individual, at purse parties or at any online auction. If someone separate from a Coach store is trying to sell you a bag, it is probably a fake.

Make sure the purse you are buying has the signature "C"s on it. There are imposter bags out there with "G"s or "O"s and a few other letters. Also, the "C"s will touch and side pairs will face each other. The "C"s will not end in the body of the bag. The only "C"s that will be cut off will be the ones on the sides of the bag. Look over the "C" pattern. The pattern should be in line and not crooked.

All Coach bags come with a serial number. This number will be on the inside of the bag on a square leather patch. The serial number will be embossed into the patch. Take note of the zipper. Coach receives their zippers from a company, YKK, and those letters will always appear on the zipper.

Stitching on all Coach bags are of the highest quality. Look the bag over for any loose stitching, sloppy stitching or anything that is crooked. If anything is pulling or looks of low quality, this bag is not real. Check for anything that is glued. Nothing on these bags should be glued. Everything is to be stitched. Feel the hardware on this bag. It should be heavy and not be able to be bent at all.

Not all bags will come with a dust bag but if yours did, the dust bag should be either brown or tan with red stitching. The Coach logo will also be stamped onto the dust bag.

All Coach bags come with a Coach logo tag. These are attached by using a looped chain. The logo tags are made of 2 pieces of leather stitched together and the letters in Coach will be raised.

Having knowledge of a few tips to identify fake Coach purses will help you to make an excellent choice when selecting your new purse. These bags are wonderfully made and built to last so knowing your stuff will make the search that much easier.

Coach handbags are some of the most knocked off hadbags around. Try going to ebay and spotting the fakes.
